Dear parents,

We’re excited to invite you to be part of an important conversation about the future of education in Ireland.

As part of the redevelopment, the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA) is consulting on the Draft Primary Curriculum Specifications (what and how children will be taught) in:

  •  Arts Education (Art, Music & Drama)
  • Modern Foreign Languages (MFL)
  • Social and Environmental Education (Geography & History) Science, Technology and Engineering Education
  • Wellbeing (Physical Education – PE ; and Social, Personal and Health Education – SPHE)

Your input and insights will help us ensure that our education system prepares children for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

National Parents Council (NPC) would like to get your feedback on the changes happening to the curriculum. We would like to invite you to attend a parents’ focus group to share your perspectives and views on the planned changes.

The focus group will take place on 11th May 2024 at 10am – 1pm, in the Ashling Hotel, Parkgate Street, Dublin (near Heuston Station and on the LUAS redline). Followed by a light lunch.

Following the consultation on the 11th May, NPC will make a submission to the NCCA where we will share your views.

We realise that many of you will be parents of children in post primary school, but you may wish to share your views having experience of the existing primary curriculum.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement. We look forward to seeing you at the focus group event!

Kind regards,

National Parents Council
